There are days when homework drives me up a wall.

You too?

Practice math fact. Ok, but how?

Work on these sight words. Sounds good. Oh, but wait… we’re so tired of flashcards. Is there any other way to do this?

There’s got to be a better way.

I like things hands-on. I like to make learning fun. I don’t want home to be an extension of school.

But, I do want to help my kids succeed. I want them to learn and I know you do too.

While growing my first blog, Creative Family Fun, I kept running into the same problem again and again. How can parents make learning fun? How can we help our kids succeed?

As parents, we’re often working with a time crunch. We don’t have the same resources that teachers do. We often second-guess ourselves and feel like we just don’t know enough to help our kids. Help!

It’s time to empower ourselves. We’ll find ways to make learning fun. We’ll help our kids be a success.

What will you find at Better Than Homework?

You’ll find math, reading, writing, social studies, STEM, and science ideas.

You’ll find tons of ways to practice math facts, sight words, and spelling words.

You’ll find fun ways to learn broken down by grade (pre-k through 5th grade) and subject area.

What won’t you find at Better Than Homework?

You won’t find worksheets. There are plenty of these all over the internet. Instead you’ll find hands-on learning ideas.

You won’t find negativity. Goodness knows there’s a lot of negativity surrounding Common Core and homework these days. But, we won’t venture into that territory. I want this to be a positive, fun place where you can get the help you need.

Let’s have fun and help our kids succeed!
